Mlx90614esf
MLX90614ESF is a fully integrated infrared thermometer IC manufactured by Melexis, packaged in TO-39 metal through-hole housing. It adopts thermopile principle to detect infrared radiation emitted from target surface without physical contact.
This chip measures two temperature values at the same time: object temperature and local ambient temperature. It is pre-calibrated at factory, no extra calibration needed. The temperature resolution reaches 0.02°C, typical precision ±0.5°C within 0~50°C range. It provides dual output options: SMBus compatible I2C digital communication or configurable 10-bit PWM continuous temperature output.
1. Factory Pre-Calibrated Non-Contact Infrared Sensing
MLX90614ESF is a high precision single-point infrared thermopile sensor IC manufactured by Melexis. It integrates thermopile detector, low-noise amplifier, ADC and DSP inside TO-39 metal package. Factory finished calibration, no extra calibration required by users. It can simultaneously measure object surface temperature and sensor ambient temperature, support non-contact temperature measurement without physical contact with target surface.
2. Dual Output Interface: SMBus(I2C) and PWM
Supports SMBus compatible I2C digital communication, easy to connect with MCU for digital temperature reading. It also provides configurable 10-bit PWM continuous temperature output. Multiple sensors can share one two-wire bus, up to 127 sensors on single bus, convenient for multi-point temperature monitoring system design.
3. Ultra High Resolution & Excellent Measurement Accuracy
Temperature resolution reaches 0.02℃, typical accuracy ±0.5℃ within 0~50℃ range. Multiple field-of-view options including 5°,10°,35°,90° for different detection distance and target size requirement. Metal TO-39 packaging shields external light interference and electromagnetic noise, improves stability under complex lighting environment.
4. Low Power Operation & Wide Temperature Range
Operating supply voltage from 3.3V to 5.5V, compatible with common MCU power rails. Typical quiescent current 1.2mA, suitable for battery-powered portable devices. Object temperature measuring range: -70℃ ~ +380℃; sensor ambient working temperature: -40℃ ~ +85℃.
5. Compact Metal Packaging & Wide Scenario Compatibility
TO-39 metal can through-hole package, good heat isolation and anti-interference performance. RoHS compliant. Widely used for new product development, equipment maintenance replacement, electronic prototype and BOM matching.
