Lm34dz
LM34DZ is a classic integrated analog temperature sensor from TI, packaged in standard TO-92 through-hole form factor. It outputs linear voltage corresponding directly to Fahrenheit readings, 10 millivolts per degree Fahrenheit, eliminating conversion offset calculation needed for Kelvin calibrated sensors.
The chip is pre-calibrated at wafer level, no external resistors or trimming required. Typical precision reaches ±0.5°F at ambient temperature, and ±1.5°F across full working temperature span from -50°F to 300°F. It consumes merely 75µA operating current, which causes minimal self-heating error less than 0.2°F in static air.
Supply range supports 5V to 30V single supply, also works with dual positive/negative power rails. Low output impedance simplifies connection to ADC, comparator or microcontroller circuits.
Pinout (TO-92): Pin1 V+ Power, Pin2 Vout Analog Output, Pin3 GND Ground.
Common applications include HVAC temperature measurement, industrial equipment thermal monitoring, Arduino & embedded projects, appliance temperature control, environmental data logging. It is the Fahrenheit counterpart of LM35 Celsius temperature sensor.
1. Pre-Calibrated Fahrenheit Temperature Sensing
LM34DZ is a precision analog temperature sensor IC manufactured by TI. Its output voltage is linearly proportional to Fahrenheit temperature. Unlike Kelvin-calibrated sensors, it directly outputs Fahrenheit reading without complex voltage offset subtraction. Wafer-level trimming completes factory calibration, no extra external calibration or trimming needed. Typical accuracy ±0.5°F at room temperature, ±1.5°F across full operating range.
2. Linear Low-Impedance Analog Output & Simple Interface
Linear voltage output simplifies ADC sampling with MCU. Low output impedance ensures stable signal transmission, easy to connect with microcontroller, meter and readout circuit. Support single power supply or dual positive/negative power supply mode, flexible for various circuit designs.
3. Ultra Low Power Consumption & Minimal Self-Heating
Typical supply current only 75µA. Low power draw greatly reduces self-heating effect, temperature error caused by self-heating less than 0.2°F in still air, guarantee high measuring accuracy for low airflow environment. Suitable for battery-powered portable temperature measuring devices.
4. Wide Supply Voltage & Broad Temperature Measurement Range
Operating supply voltage from 5V to 30V DC, compatible with most industrial and consumer power systems. Measuring temperature range: -50°F ~ +300°F. Compact TO-92 3-pin through-hole package, easy for hand soldering and prototype assembly.
5. Cost-Effective General Purpose Temperature Sensing Component
RoHS compliant. Widely used for new product design, equipment maintenance replacement, student electronic projects and BOM matching. It is the Fahrenheit counterpart of LM35 Celsius temperature sensor.
