LMT86LP is a CMOS analog temperature sensor manufactured by TI in standard TO-92 through-hole package. Its output voltage decreases linearly as temperature rises at -10.9mV per degree Celsius.

The chip works at ultra-low supply voltage starting from 2.2V, with extremely low 5.4µA static current, making it well-suited for low-battery portable devices. Typical accuracy reaches ±0.4°C, maximum error ±2.7°C across full -50°C to 150°C temperature range.

It integrates push-pull class-AB output stage with low output impedance, can directly drive ADC inputs. Output short-circuit protection is included. The pin assignment is compatible with classic LM35, LM20 sensors for easy drop-in replacement, serving as a cost-effective upgrade alternative to thermistors.

1. Precision CMOS Temperature Sensing with Linear Inverse Analog Output

LMT86LP is a high-precision CMOS analog temperature sensor manufactured by TI. Its output voltage changes linearly inversely with temperature, with fixed transfer slope of -10.9mV/℃. Factory trimmed for consistent performance, typical accuracy ±0.4℃, maximum error ±2.7℃ across full temperature range. It is an economical alternative to traditional thermistors, delivering stable and repeatable temperature readings.

2. Low Voltage Operation & Ultra Low Power Consumption

Supports low supply voltage starting from 2.2V up to 5.5V, well suited for lithium battery powered portable systems. Typical quiescent current only 5.4µA, greatly reduces power drain and self-heating error for long-life battery equipment.

3. Push-Pull Output & Built-in Short-Circuit Protection

Adopts Class-AB push-pull output structure with ±50µA drive capability, directly connects to MCU ADC without extra buffer amplifier. Integrated output short-circuit protection, prevents chip damage under accidental output short conditions, improves circuit robustness for industrial and consumer designs.
